He's on his own with those books. I helped him get Evans' attention, don't let him say I never did anything for him.

[Remus rolled his eyes.]

[Sirius, too, tried to keep as straight a face as possible, but soon it became pretty much impossible. He would blame it on Remus and that face and that goofy grin of his. Really, it's all his friend's fault. He elbowed Remus playfully.]

Well, you were close on the super-genius part, anyway but... I don't think a long skirt would suit you, mate.

Oooph![He let out a fake gasp for air before pretending to faint from pain of being elbowed.]

[His eyes widened as a blush spread across his cheeks. He really could be oblivious sometimes.]

[The blush and the whole oblivious thing was pretty cute. Sirius half-smiled, before letting go of Remus and pulling away a bit.]

I'm sure you do plenty. If he's anything like me, he needs a smart girl like you around to help him.

[Remus tried to open his mouth to respond but only short croaks came out. He half reached for Sirius. He had been oblivious for a reason. He couldn't see himself with anyone and them be safe. Well, that was until three goons learned to handle him.]

[Sirius' smile falters a bit, and he shakes his head.]

Forget about it, Remus. I was only joking around.

[It's a lie, of course. No one knows him better than Remus - well, other than James, but this was different.]

[Remus continued to gape at him for a moment before frowning and letting out an exasperated sigh.]

Sometimes I just don't understand your jokes Siri.

[Reaching for his book, he raised it to cover his blush that was returning as his thoughts lingered on what Sirius had said.]

[Sirius laughed a little, but it was weak this time, and he looked away.]

That's just because you don't always have a very good sense of humor, Moons.

[Glancing up, over his book, he gave Sirius a pointed look.]

I wouldn't say that. You and I are friends after all.

Right. Well... suppose you should know by now when I'm joking and when I'm not.

I do! Most of the time... I think my error rate is one for nine in my favor. Though there was that time with that Hufflepuff bloke... Which reminds me, I need to see how Madam Pomfrey's treating him.

[Sirius blinked. Hold on there.]

Harvey Blout. Potions. About two weeks ago. [He raised an eyebrow.] Someone, I'm pretty sure it was you, switched my ingredient labels. I lent some materials to him and now he's enjoying the comfort of the hospital wing for a time.

I'm SO SORRY this is late! RL has been killing me lately.

OH yeah. [He smirks just a little, but awkwardly scratches the back of his neck.]

Probably shouldn't have done that.

That's okay. RL takes priority (I cried and cried for days! ^_~)

[Remus sighed.] And this is why we can't have nice things.
